Duncan Goose
Duncan is the man who made all of this happen. Way back, when One Water was just an idea conjured up between a group of mates, he had the vision and dedication to see it through to the first bottles rolling off the production line, and far beyond.
Here he outlines his hopes for a better and fairer approach to the world.
Hi there, I'm Duncan the founder of Global Ethics, the company behind the One brand.
My background is in marketing but the catalyst for creating Global Ethics happened as a result of a two year motorbike trip around the world between '98 and 2000.
It was an amazing odyssey and I was fortunate to have people all over the world take me under their wing when it went wrong - as it sometimes did. I learnt a lot about humanity and about the kindness of strangers.
We're all global neighbours, but sometimes we just don't realise it. I often say that if you knew a neighbour in your street was living in poverty, starving, or desparately ill, you'd do something to help them and this is kind of what One has started to do - albeit on a global scale.
We're changing lives, one person, one day at a time. We call it the butterfly effect - which is why it's part of our logo.
In truth, One is a legacy project - we won't solve the worlds problems in our lifetime - but this is one project we can all be part of and hopefully ensure the brand stands the test of time and keeps being bought by our children and childtren's children.
It's hugely exciting. And it’s great to have you with us. Thank you.
Duncan gets dragged all over the place to talk about his experiences, in the last year alone he's been from the USA to Brazil and India to Sydney as well as Birmingham, Cardiff, London to Manchester) from audiences of thousands to small intimate gatherings he's happy talking alongside business leaders and billionaires, politicans and students - he's always keen to spread the word. If you want to book him just call London Speakers Bureau on +44 (0) 20 8748 9595 (ask for Brendan if he's there, he's v nice)
