Duncan’s prestigious awards
Duncan Goose has won another two prestigious global awards. In recognition of World Water Day 2008, PlayPumps International honoured Duncan for his instrumental role and continuing efforts to bring clean drinking water to the 1.1 billion people in the world who need it. Duncan was presented with his award by former chief executive officer and chairman of AOL, Steve Case, in a ceremony in Washington, US.
Duncan has also been presented with a Paul Harris Fellowship Award by The Rotary Club, an honour given to people to recognise their work in the charitable sector. The Paul Harris Fellowship Award is especially unique for Duncan as is it rarely bestowed upon people who are non-Rotary members.

Honored by The Case Foundation
Last week I was invited to The Case Foundation's head office in Washington, DC to be presented with an award by Jean Case and Dale Jones. It really was an inspiring evening; when I started One water our aim was to change one person's life, one day at a time. Together, we're now funding a PlayPump every four days - to be recognised for this really was a humbling experience. A huge thank you to you all for helping us to change so many people's lives.

One funds over 101 PlayPumps
Mischa Barton, famous actress and One water’s newest ambassador commented: “The installation of so many PlayPumps is a great achievement. Not only have UK shoppers provided clean and safe drinking water for schools and communities but this means that children can be children; they can go to school, they can get an education and they can play.”

Trip report: Ndondeni - Our First Roundabout Playpump
I call myself an armchair do-gooder because, like a lot of people I have numerous direct debits going out of my account every month to help somebody here or do something there. I feel a bit hollow. I get nothing in return and never see what I've achieved.

Trip report: Leeufontein - Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow
'It's amazing what can be achieved when you put your mind to it.' I've heard this phrase many times, as we all have, but never really felt I'd achieved something amazing. Don't get me wrong I'm not suggesting there aren't things I'm very proud of...but amazing...probably not! However, three months ago was the start of my road to something truly amazing.
