Nourishing the Brain

It doesn’t get much better than this…that is assuming that over 10,000 people didn’t mind a little rain.

So we all got a little wet (actually drenched)!  But, that did nothing to dampen my spirits nor that of 10,000 runners who participated in the Race for Hope last month.  The Race for Hope raised $2M dollars toward finding a cure for brain cancer!  And, One Water helped raise awareness about the drinking water crisis and PlayPumps.

We did the one thing that the rain couldn't do... quench the thirst of nearly 10,000 race participants.   Check out the indomitable spirit of Lisa McCandless (one of PlayPumps very own) and other volunteers at the race sporting the One Water race t-shirt.

You can view more photos posted by one of the great people from Arnold DC who helped us with the awesome signage http://rosscauvel.blogspot.com/2009/05/love-one-water.html.

All in all, it was a great day, from when I arrived at 4:45am to when I left at noon.  And as for the rain, it was nothing that a warm cup of cocoa (yes, in May) and a hot shower couldn’t cure.

I want to give props to Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure (ABC2) not only for a great race event but also for giving us the opportunity to be part of it.  We hope to be back again next year.

This is the first blog from the US arm of Global Ethics, but certainly not the last.  In fact, stay tuned for an announcement of our first restaurant deal in Washington, DC… you’ll soon be able to get your One with your lettuce.  More to come.
