Since launch, Duncan and Global Ethics have won an enviable collection of prestigious awards.
Greatest Britons 2007
Duncan was the winner in the 'Campaigner category' at the first ever Greatest Britons Awards ceremony in 2007. Duncan received his award alongside other winners that included the Queen, Dame Helen Mirren, David Beckham, Banksy, Ricky Gervais, Giles Deacon and Sir Ranulph Fiennes.
Beacon Fellowship Award
In 2007 Duncan was awarded the Beacon Fellowship award, an annual prize given to individuals who have made exceptional contributions to charitable causes. Following the award, Duncan was welcomed into the Beacon Fellowship, which is the first and only Fellowship scheme to actively support and encourage an improved culture of giving in the UK. Membership of the Fellowship is limited to Beacon Prize winners.
International 'Hero' award
In recognition of World Water Day 2008, PlayPumps International presented Duncan with an International Hero award for his instrumental role and continuing efforts to bring clean drinking water to the 1.1 billion people in the world who have no access to it. Duncan was presented his award by Jean Case, one of America’s foremost philanthropists and a pioneer in the world of interactive technologies, in a ceremony in Washington DC, USA.
CRTG Award
In 2008, Global Ethics was awarded the Best Responsible Product of the Year Award, at the annual Co-Operative Retail Group Business Awards. The Co-Operative Group selected One Water from a portfolio of thousands of brands they stock.
Paul Harris Fellowship Award
In March 2008, Duncan was presented with a Paul Harris Fellowship Award by The Rotary Club, an honour given to people to recognise their work in the charitable sector. This award is especially unique for Duncan as is it rarely bestowed upon people who are non-Rotary members.
Caterer & Hotelkeeper - 3663 Award for Excellence
Global Ethics was awarded an Excellence in Food & Drink Award in 2008 for the One water brand. The Award is unique in the fact that the judges recognised the outstand work of the company, the team and the brand and created a special award in their honour.
National Business Awards Winner
Duncan Goose won the Credit Suisse Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the 2008 National Business Awards. This award is given to the outstanding individual who best demonstrates exceptional vision and leadership in the establishment and development of an owner-led business.
Medinge 'Brands with a Conscience' Award
Duncan was presented with a unique Brand with a Conscience award in Paris in early 2009. The Medinge Group recognises outstanding philanthropic work in a global context. Global Ethics was the only UK company to receive the award in 2009. Other award winners included Paul Newman Foundation and Kiva.org for their contributions to charitable work.
European Entrepreneur of the Year Awards
In April 2009 Duncan was presented with the Ruban d'Honneur medal for his work as a social entrepreneur during the European Entrepreneur of the Year Awards in Rome. Duncan, also went on to win the European Entrepreneur of the Year Award, of which 7,000 companies took part across the whole of Europe.
Honorary Doctorate
In July 2009, Duncan was presented an Honorary Doctorate in Business Administration by the University of Sunderland. Doctorates are awarded to a small number of distinguished people in recognition of outstanding work in a particular field.
Bank of Scotland Social Entrepreneur Awards
Duncan was a finalist in the 2009 Bank of Scotland Social Entrepreneur Awards.
Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards
Duncan won an Entrepreneur of the Year award the 2009 London & South East Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.
Social Enterprise Awards
Global Ethics won the Best Large Social Enterprise in the UK Award in 2009 and was asked to go to 10 Downing Street to meet Gordon Brown
Institute of Directors
Duncan won the Chairman's Award at the 2010 Institute of Directors Awards in London.
