Day 3 on the Robert Dyas trip: Some thoughts from Nigel Wheeler, Aqua Optima
Nothing could have prepared us for the greeting we received as we approached Mohele primary school.
As we drove off the dirt road and up the last 200 metres toward the Mohele primary school we saw dozens of small children jumping up and down with excitement. What did the next 3 hours have in store for us?. After a day in joburg visiting the PlayPump factory and Soweto townships, nothing could have prepared us for the greeting we received from the smiling, laughing, beautiful children. I still cannot believe that something as simple as selling a water filter fridge jug could have brought us 5000 miles to Africa. It was amazing to see the PlayPump changing lives.
To be part of this effort is special, really special and will leave me with everlasting memories and a desire to continue to do more.
It is easily the most rewarding work orientated project I have had the pleasure of undertaking.
