Off to Malawi with ChicoOff to Malawi with Chico

This week I’m off on a trip to the Kasungu area in Malawi, Africa, to visit two new PlayPump water solutions funded by the singer Chico through the Rainbow Child Foundation.

The Rainbow Child Foundation is a non-profit organisation that helps underprivileged children all over the world in a variety of ways.

These are the second and third PlayPumps that Chico has funded through the Rainbow Child Foundation.

We’ll aim to keep you up to date with our travels on this blog. We leave on Monday, arriving at Lilongwi, Malawi at mid-day on Tuesday and travel 3 hours out of the township and deep into the heart of urban Malawi to the Balaka region.

In Balaka, we head to Mbavi Primary School to visit a sanitation block funded by people who have bought One Toilet Tissue from The Co-operative; then onto Hilda Kawaga to see a groundnut farmer and a cassava farmer. Wrapping up by heading into Chiundu to see livestock projects and a Home Based Care project.

Then we have a long trek north, where on Wednesday we visit Kalula and Livwezi FP Schools which between them have more than 2000 pupils benefiting from the PlayPumps funded by Chico.

As always it’s going to be a whirlwind trip but we’ll do our best to capture some video and photos to bring back the lives of the people out there back to you at home.
