My 3rd trip to Malawi is well underway
Having breakfast at the airport looking forward to what is going to be a very busy trip.
Just sitting at Jo'burg airport waiting for our connecting flight to Blantyre. The sun is warm and the skies are clear and I've just woken up to what I'm traveling back in to.
This is my 3rd trip to the beautiful country of Malawi and it's warm, friendly people. It's always hard coming here to see the reality of their struggles; the odd contrast between their happiness and suffering is one that I'll probably never come to terms with.
We visit sites this afternoon that have had no clean water or sanitation intervention. I imagine that is going to be particularly hard to experience.
My traveling companion, Chris Grabowski, from PrettyGreen has just commented to me over the breakfast table that he just has no idea of what to expect. And this reminds me of my first time over there – I’m very much looking forward to sharing his experience with him.
More soon ... provided we get some decent internet access!
