Some final day thoughts from Peter Sargent, Robert DyasSome final day thoughts from Peter Sargent, Robert Dyas

I found the whole trip thought provoking and seeing so much poverty made me realise just how much we take for granted back home.

We have been totally blown over by the vastness and drama of the country and the friendliness of the people. From visiting the Playpump factory to the school where the first Robert Dyas Playpump is installed, the trip has been so memorable. Although very poor, the children we met at the school were so joyous and happy at our arrival. They were so excited with the simple gifts we brought from home. As we drove through the countryside we saw other PlayPumps installed in communities and I feel very gratified that by simply selling One Water filter jugs and filters my company (Robert Dyas) can continue to fund life changing PlayPumps.

I have been in retail management for most of my adult life – and that is where I met my wife! – so some good has come out of it all! I am currently a District Manager for Robert Dyas Ltd. and am responsible for 20 stores and about 200 colleagues. My district causes me to do quite a lot of traveling, but not as much as I am about to embark on now………!
