They've made it!!They've made it!!

One Big Climb Team reach Base Camp.

I've just received a text from Paul: "We made it, and reached base camp in a record time for Exodus.  Just amazing, wandering among ice towers as high as 20 storey buildings.  There are huge boulders the size of a 4 bedroom house just suspended on a tower of ice.  The walk up this morning was tough.  We got up at 6am and had a short break at Goral Shek at 9.00am.

Neither Matt or I really slept last night - for me, I felt all night like someone was standing on my chest and breathing was extremely hard..and as for the temperature, our water bottles froze in our rooms as it was -10c.  Still the beauty of base camp revived us.  Just got back to Gorak Shek and all totally shattered.  Heads down on the tables, too tired to speak, but smiles all round!  Just Kalapattar tomorrow to conquer".

HUGE congratulations to the team, we have all been following them avidly here in the office and on facebook too, and we are so proud of them.  A massive thank you to the brilliant Exodus team too for their incredible support and generosity throughout this challenge.

About the Author

I guess I’m ‘Little Miss Everything’, if you need to know something, come to Nikki. I have a wide range of responsibilities ranging from donor communications, case studies, to supporting the marketing team on various campaigns/projects. Everyday the team have me doing weird and wonderful things.

Duncan, being an old friend, asked me to come and work for him for just one day a week, he was drowning in admin and needed saving. He’s a trickster though, because he knows that once you enter the family of One, you are hooked and one day a week soon becomes a full time living, breathing passion.

Three years on, Global Ethics isn’t just a job, it’s a way of life. From the pride you feel when you hear what you have achieved for thousands of beautiful children in Africa, to the late night emails that the team send while sitting there at 10pm working like a trojan with a glass of wine, to the belly laughs we have in the office. I’m very fortune to work with such an inspiring, passionate bunch of people, who really are my One family.
