Finance
Did you know that 2.7 billion people in the developing world have no access to financial services from sources other than money lenders and, in Africa, women account for more than 60% of the rural labour force and contribute up to 80% of food production? Yet they receive less than 10% of the credit provided to farmers. It isn't ever easy to start up your own business, but in areas where people are living at subsistence levels, getting a small amount of money together to get your business off the ground is virtually impossible.

Enabling communities to become self-sufficient through the creation of successful micro-businesses is key to long-term income stability and we wanted to do something to help. So we've teamed up with Alquity Investment Management, who donate a minimum of 25% of their net fund management fees from the Alquity Africa Fund to The One Foundation, to support microfinance projects in Africa.
