Meet Mirriam

Mirriam and her fellow farmers are busy applying the compost they made at the beginning of the year. Because, thanks to a project funded by One Vitamin Enhanced Water, they’ve learnt that improved soil fertility coupled with enough rains means increased crop yield. And that’s just the start. They’ve also learnt how to produce a second harvest of beans and maize, rather than relying on one harvest a year which resulted in months of hunger. Conserving their soil and water resources are other new skills helping to make the land productive all year round. Now they’re looking forward to growing enough food to feed their families, with enough left over to sell to make a profit.
