Today the Pope will address the United Nations in New York and 193 world leaders will commit to 17 new Global Goals to tackle inequality, poverty and climate change over the next 15 years.

If the goals are met, they ensure the health, safety and future of the planet for everyone on it. And their best chance of being met is if everyone on the planet is aware of them.

As you read this, Duncan is in New York. He emailed his thoughts earlier today…

Today is a marker in time. And yet many people will know nothing about the Global Goals and the post 2015 agenda. What has happened over the last 15 years since the Millennium Development Goals were launched has been unique. What will happen over the next 15 is unprecedented in humanity.

Take a moment to watch the news, buy the weekend papers and have a google about the Pope going to the UN in his Fiat 500 (because I’m sure that’s what the lead story will be!) and as a supporter of One, say to yourself “I was part of that”. Because we are and have been for the last decade, and will be for the next 15 years. At which point I want to look back knowing we did all we could, because this is how our children and their children will judge us.
