March is always an important month in the One office as World Water Day falls annually on the 22nd. It’s a day about raising awareness of and taking action to tackle the global water crisis. 663 million people still don’t have access to safe, clean drinking water and we want to do everything we can to change that!

Last week my colleague Victoria (Director of Fundraising at The One Foundation) and I visited some of the fabulous Hawksmoor restaurants around London to talk to staff about a new campaign that we have launched this year called ‘Give Water Give Life’ – a simple concept that could have a big impact!

For the month of March, Hawksmoor restaurants (Air Street, Seven Dials, Knightsbridge, Spitalfields, Guildhall and Manchester) will be adding a voluntary £1 donation to every bill. This will help to deliver clean water projects in Africa.

Hawksmoor Borough, the newest addition to the chain, will also be getting involved on World Water Day (March 22nd). Hawksmoor has already changed over 2,000 lives forever through the sales of our water in their restaurants – an amazing achievement!

Other great companies also supporting Give Water Give Life include Sourced Market, Manchester Met University, Bidvest Foodservice, 2 Eddies Restaurant, ISS UK and Sanctum Soho Hotel. Some are collecting donations from donation tins, some are holding bake sales and others are taking part in a 5L challenge where you live on only 5 litres of water for 24 hours.
