One Gin creates award-winning, bold, distinctive London Dry gins abundant with their signature botanical of fresh sage and copper-distilled into wonderfully smooth aromatic spirits. It is the first gin created to give back to a global humanitarian cause; every bottle helps fund life-changing, sustainable water programmes in the world’s poorest communities.

The One Gin Story

It all started with water. Richmond resident Duncan Goose was inspired to start the ethical brand, One, after being caught in Hurricane Mitch in Honduras in 1998 – a natural disaster responsible for killing 20,000 people – and understood what it meant to live without access to safe drinking water.

The experience stayed with him. Four years later, he re-mortgaged his flat, quit his job and focussed full time on launching the ethical bottled water brand, One Water. The idea was simple: To sell bottled water in the UK and give away the profits to fund life-changing sustainable programmes in the world’s poorest communities around water, sanitation and hygiene – through The One Foundation.

One Gin was launched on World Water Day in 2017, to continue this journey. The idea was simple – to combine a love of beautiful, premium craft gin with a belief in making the world a better place.

One Gin was conceived out of the realisation that there was real appetite from gin lovers for a distinctive, savoury offering. The answer came in the form of one of the most loved and multi-facetted botanicals: fresh sage. A few months later, One Gin was 1 of only 20 gins selected from 379 entries in a blind tasting to win a gold award in the prestigious International Wine & Spirits Competition (IWSC).

Fast forward three and a half years and One Gin has launched its second expression, Sage & Apple, and its new limited edition One Port Barrel Rested Gin to great success.

One Gin donates at least 10% of its profit to fund life-changing, sustainable water projects in the world’s poorest communities – a cause which feels all the more relevant in these unprecedented times, when clean water and hygiene play such a pivotal role in all of our lives. So far, The One Foundation has raised over £20 million, changing the lives of over 3.8 million people, demonstrating that you can make a difference One bottle at a time, One day at a time.

Why the butterfly?

It’s been said that the tiny flutter of a butterfly’s wing can trigger a cyclone on the other side of the world. This belief – that small acts can lead to great change – is at the heart of what One Gin does.
